With over 40 years of equine experience and established operations since 2009, mares and foals receive consistent daily oversight and thoughtful individual management during this important stage of life.

Mare & Foal Agistment – $185 per mare, per week*

Inclusions

24/7 on-site supervision
Daily paddock checks and routine health observation
Over 40 years of hands-on equine experience guiding daily management decisions
Individual paddock arrangements with careful consideration given to herd dynamics and compatibility.
Secure electric fencing with natural and constructed shelter
Clean spring-fed water via automatic trough systems
Two daily feeds provided as part of Mount Prospect Horse Agistment's structured feeding routine for the mare
Quality hay provided according to seasonal conditions and paddock requirements
Regular human interaction to encourage confidence and positive early handling experiences where appropriate
Body condition monitoring of both mare and foal
Coordination of farrier and veterinary visits where required
Ongoing paddock maintenance and property care

* Dependent foals at foot are included with their mare. Additional charges may apply once foals become independent or require separate feeding or management.

Pregnancy & Foaling

Pregnant mares are welcome at Mount Prospect Horse Agistment.

Mount Prospect Horse Agistment is not a specialist foaling facility and does not provide dedicated foaling supervision or intensive foaling management services.

Owners remain responsible for veterinary arrangements and all associated veterinary costs relating to pregnancy, foaling and any complications that may arise.

Location & Environment

Mount Prospect Horse Agistment is located in a quiet rural setting bordering the Wombat State Forest.

The property provides a calm environment designed to support routine, paddock harmony and overall wellbeing for both mare and foal.

Conveniently located near Daylesford and within practical proximity to experienced equine veterinary services.

Important Information

Veterinary care, worming, supplements and specialised feeds remain the responsibility of the horse's owner.
A signed agistment agreement is required prior to arrival.
One month's bond is payable before commencement.
Mare and foal placements are limited to maintain our commitment to low-stress management and individual care.
